Ramadan Iftar feast was held on the 13th of April in Seurakuntakoti, Toppila, Oulu. With about 50 guests present, we explored the Ramadan fast. With the sunset, the fast was broken and diverse Turkish cuisine was awaiting followed by pleasant conversations. The fact that Suvi – our first and dearest teacher from the refugee camp joined us, and Tarja Oja, provided us with the place for this iftar, warmed our hearts even more. We were overwhelmed by their company.
We present our gratitude to Mikko for the support and to the Turkish community women who cooked the food and for the man who did the dishes and brought the kitchen into order. Hope to see you at many other multicultural events.
